Shurtz Marine Enterprises was started in 1992 as a sole proprietorship by Russ Shurtz. Shurtz Marine provided mobile marine service and repair to local area boaters in the lower Puget Sound. In 2000, Jeff Shurtz came on board as a general partner and the "Shurtz Brothers" expanded their services and moved into a brand new 6655 square foot shop located at the Port of Olympia's new state of the art boatyard "Swantown Boatworks".
